(BLACKFOOT, ID) – Wastewater from a potato processing plant in Blackfoot is stinking up a neighborhood. Kris Baker, who lives along 500 West, tells Local News 8 that the putrid water is being used for irrigation in fields nearby. The water is coming from Basic American Foods, but officials with the Department of Environmental Quality say the noxious gases are harmless, but that they will look into the problem. Baker says the smell has made going outside virtually unbearable.
