Tigers Edge Indians 6-5 in 14 Innings
Published at(CLEVELAND) — Prince Fielder’s two-run double in the 14th inning propelled the Detroit Tigers to a 6-5 win over the Cleveland Indians, their 11th-straight victory.
The win extended the team’s AL Central lead to six games over the Indians.
Miguel Cabrera added a two-run shot off Indians’ rookie Danny Salazar in the 8th-inning that put the Tigers up 4-3. The Indians tied the game in the bottom of the frame and the game went into extras.
Jeremy Bonderman (2-3) pitched three innings for the Tigers. He hasn’t pitched for them since Oct. 1, 2010. Joaquin Benoit earned his 14th save of the season.
