(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims increased slighty to kick off the month of August, jumping to 333,000, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.
For the week ending Aug. 3, the number of people filing for benefits went up by 5,000. The previous week, claims stood at 328,000.
The four-week average, meanwhile, dropped, decreasing by 6,250 to 335,500.
