(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims changed course and rose last week, jumping to 336,000, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.
For the week ending Aug. 17, the number of people filing for benefits climbed by 13,000. The previous week, claims stood at 323,000.
The four-week average, meanwhile, went down, decreasing by 2,250 to 330,500.
