Cano was drilled on the left hand by J.A. Happ and was forced to leave the game in the first inning.  X-Rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day.

Even without Cano, the Yankee bats came alive in a 7-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.  Alfonso Soriano homered twice, giving him 400 for his career.

“It’s great for me,” said Soriano. “When I left here (in 2004), I wasn’t sad because it’s part of the game, but I thought about how I had something to prove to myself, to my teammates, to the fans.”

Alex Rodriguez also homered for the Yankees, who are chasing a handful of teams for an AL wild card spot. Andy Pettitte earned his 10th win of the season.

The Yankees jumped out to a 4-0 lead off of Happ in the first inning and never looked back.

“You spot them four runs right out of the gate, it’s tough to overcome that,” Blue Jays manager John Gibbons later said.
