(WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT) – Yellowstone National Park officials are pushing for major restrictions on winter travel. In response to significant pressure from environmental groups and Democratic members of Congress, the National Park Service is lowering the number of daily transportation group events from 318 to 110. Of those daily groups, only 50 can include snowmobiles. Authorities say the final ruling won’t be made until this fall, leaving current policies in place until that time.
