Aaron Hernandez Girlfriend and Cousin Indicted in Connection to Murder Case

iStock/Thinkstock(NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass.) — Prosecutors in Massachusetts cast a wider net in the murder case that centers on former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez. A grand jury in Massachusetts returned indictments against the girlfriend and cousin of the former football player.
Girlfriend Shayana Jenkins, 24, of North Attleboro, is accused of perjury. Cousin Tanya Singleton, 37, of Bristol, Conn., is accused of conspiracy.
Prosecutors say Singleton drove to Florida with an alleged accomplice and, one police theory holds, helped him dispose of the murder weapon, which still hasn’t been found.
Earlier an indictment was returned against another alleged accomplice of Hernandez, bringing to five the number of people facing charges in the June 17 murder of Odin Loyd.
Arraignment dates have yet to be set for Jenkins and Singleton.
