(ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.) — The Bills improved to 2-0 on a day when they honored their 28-member Wall of Fame with a last second touchdown pass to beat the Panthers, 24-23.
Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel looked nothing like a first-year quarterback when he drove the team down the field 80-yards and hit Stevie Johnson with a two-yard touchdown pass with two seconds remaining.
Manuel finished the game 27 of 39 for 296 yards with the touchdown to Johnson and an interception.
C.J. Spiller helped Manuel out with 103 yards on the ground and Johnson finished with 111 yards receiving.
Cam Newton tossed two touchdowns and was 21 of 38 for 229 yards and a pick in the loss.
The Panthers are now 0-2 and will host the New York Giants next Sunday. Buffalo will take on the New York Jets (1-1).
