Manuel injured his knee on Aug. 16 in the Bills second preseason game verus Minnesota.

Manuel only particpated in individual drills Sunday, but is expected to partake in team drillls Monday.

Bills head coach Doug Marrone said last week that if Manuel wasn’t prepared to play in the team’s regular season opener versus the New England Patriots, undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel would start. But Marrone now says Manuel is ahead of schedule in his rehab, and if the young QB can continue to practice and is prepared to go, he’ll play Sunday.

“Wednesday we’ll make a decision. It’s either going to be EJ or it’s going to be Jeff,” Marrone said Sunday. “Both guys will be available for the game.”
