Kersey/Getty Images(CINCINNATI) — The Reds may be wishing they called up speedster Billy Hamilton sooner with how well he’s played since being called up. Hamilton scored the winning run in Cincinnati’s 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With the game tied at 3 in 10th inning, Reds’ outfielder Ryan Ludwick drew a walk against reliever Brian Wilson.

Reds manager Dusty Baker decided to put Hamilton in as a pinch-runner. The move paid off as Hamilton quickly stole second base to give the Reds the go-ahead-run in scoring position.

Todd Frazier wound up singling off Wilson, and Hamilton scored the game winning run as a result.

In four games so far, Hamilton has yet to make a plate appearance. But he does already have three runs scored to go along with four stolen bases.

Hamilton has been a base-stealing machine ever since his days in the minors. In 2011 he stole 103 bases in 135 games, and last season he set the minor league record with 155 stolen bases in 132 games.

With the win, the Reds improved to 81-62 and still hold the final Wild Card spot in the National League.
