(NEW YORK) — Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista has been shut down for the rest of the 2013 season due to an injured hip.
The four-time All-Star had 28 home runs and 73 RBIs in 118 games this season.
“Bautista shut down for rest of season with femur bone bruise. Will be 100 pct for spring training,” the Blue Jays announced on twitter on Wednesday.
Bautista will turn 33 next month and is signed on with Toronto through 2015 with a $14-million team option for 2016.
