Blue Jays Lose Encarnacion for the Season
Published atThe wrist has been bothering Encarnacion most of the season but started hurting more in the past two weeks. He missed a few games last week before returning over the weekend, but his condition didn’t improve so he was shut down.
Encarnacion will undergo a procedure later this week that will repair damaged cartilage. The rehab process is expected to take two months and Encarnacion should make a full recovery and be ready for spring training.
The 30-year-old Encarnacion hit .277 with 36 home runs, 104 RBIs and a .370 on-base percentage this season.
