(RICHMOND, Va.) — Brad Keselowski raced to his fifth victory in the Nationwide Series on Friday night after he passed Brian Scott with 11 laps to go on a restart.
After a tough Sprint Cup season, Keselowski has been able to have a lot of success in this series.
“We deserved to win that race,” Keselowski said. “Just some restarts and some questionable calls got us there at the end.”
Scott’s team protested that Keselowski got started too fast during the second to last restart and again on the final, but nothing came of it.
“The restart box is a zone and we went right at the start of it and didn’t give him a second to catch us,” Keselowski said of the protest. “That probably wasn’t the key to victory, but it sure didn’t hurt.”
Scott was looking for his first win in 134 starts in the series.
