Bridgewater was his usual self against the Colonels. He completed 23 of 32 passes for 397 yards and also threw four touchdowns.

The Cardinals’ defense was also dominant in the win. Linebacker Preston Brown had two of the team’s four sacks on Eastern Kentucky quarterback Jared McClain.

Even though the defense allowed just 206 yards combined with Bridgewater’s big day, Louisville head caoch Charlie Strong wants to see more.

“You’d like to see that happen just because we feel like we have made a move and we’ve raised the standard and we’ve taken another step and we would have gone out there today and taken care of business, which we didn’t do,” Strong said.

All Eastern Kentucky could do was admire the effort the Cardinals put forth.

“Teddy Bridgewater is an awesome quarterback, and he has a lot of really good talent surrounding him,” Eastern Kentucky linebacker Ichiro Vance said.

The Cardinals have outscored their opponents 93-14 so far this season.
