Cutler Throws Game-Winning TD with 10 Seconds Left to Down Vikings
Published at(CHICAGO) — With 3:15 left in the fourth quarter and the Bears down six, Jay Cutler led Chicago on a 10-play 66-yard drive that ended with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Martellus Bennet with 10 seconds left in the game, giving the Bears a 31-30 victory over the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.
“Just cool, calm and collected,” Bennett said of Cutler on the game-winning drive. “I think that’s a trust thing. With the guys Cutty has on the outside and the guys he has in front of him, he feels like, ‘Hey we can make a play.’ He doesn’t have to stress.”
While Cutler did come through in the end, he wasn’t great all game. Cutler finished the day completing 28-of-39 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns but also threw two interceptions and had a fumble in the win.
“He had moments of adversity in this game and he never flinched and the guys around him never did, either,” Bears head coach Marc Trestman said.
Brandon Marshall had seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win, as the Bears improve to 2-0.
