(POCATELLO, ID) – City officials in Pocatello are asking residents to avoid watering their lawns for the next few days.  Fire Chief Dave Gates says heavy rains in the past few weeks have led to oversaturation problems in the soil. That can lead to flooding in basements and could even harm lawns of they’re watered for too long. They recommend shutting off automated sprinkler systems and keeping hoses coiled up until the next storm cycle is through. In the meantime, crews have set up free sand bag stations at Holt Arena and the Pine Ridge Mall for those who need them.
