(TOKYO) — A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Izu Islands off the coast of Japan early Wednesday.
The quake was said to be 404 kilometers deep and could be felt in Tokyo.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center does not see a risk for a tsunami.
The earthquake comes just three days after Japan’s national disaster drill. More than 1.33 million people took place in Sunday’s drill, according to Japan Today, which was put in place following Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in the spring of 2011.
There are no immediate reports of injuries.
