ESPN: Amendola Will Likely Miss Thursday’s Game
Published at(NEW YORK) — New England Patriots receiver Danny Amendola will most likely miss Thursday night’s game versus the New York Jets due to a groin injury, according to a source of ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder.
Amendola, who’s been dealing with the groin problem since the preseason, actually had to come out of the Pats’ win over the Bills Sunday in the first half because of the injury. Amendola did return in the third quarter and ended the game with 10 catches for 104 yards.
The loss of Amendola could be crucial for a Patriots team that doesn’t have many experienced pass catchers.
“We’ve got a lot of good players in the locker room, so when people are injured, that’s why you have a deep roster, guys that are — you have confidence in, you’ve gained trust in, and I certainly have that at the skill positions,” Brady said.
“We have a lot of good running backs, we have a lot of good receivers; we’re trying to do the best we can this week to go out and win a very challenging game against a very good team.”
