(TORONTO) — The Calgary Flames acquired center Joe Colborne from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night, for a fourth-round pick in next year’s NHL draft.
“He fits in very well with our rebuild and provides size up the middle which we believe is critical going forward,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster in a statement. “The fact that he is from Calgary is an added bonus. We look forward to welcoming him to the Flames family.”
The 23-year-old Colborne was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins with the 16th overall pick in the 2008 draft. In 16 career NHL games, he has recorded one goal and five assists.
