Flash Floods Hit Mink Creek
Published at | Updated at(POCATELLO, ID) – Last year it was fires, this year it was flooding. For residents of the Mink Creek area south of Pocatello, the past year has been one for the record books. Officials say Sunday’s thunderstorm caused mudslides in areas impacted by the Charlotte Fire last year, sending water, dirt, and boulders down Bannock Highway. Though some homes were damaged by flooding, no injuries were reported. With rainfall at monsoon levels over the past two weeks, city administrators are still urging residents to use caution and prepare for more flooding. Another major thunderstorm is expected to hit southeast Idaho on Thursday.
