Starting quarterback Jeff Driskel will need surgery after breaking his right leg in the first quarter and will miss the remainder of the season.

“Jeff Driskel is as tough a kid as I’ve been around so when he looked at the sideline and waved, I knew it was bad,” head coach Will Muschamp said after the game.

Junior Tyler Murphy took over for Driskel and threw for 134 yards and one touchdown, including a 52-yarder to Solomon Patton.

The 19th-ranked Gators (2-1) topped the Volunteers for the ninth-straight time in the series between the two teams.
