The average price of a gallon of gas dropped 5 cents last week to $3.49, down 33 cents compared to the same week last year, according to the Energy Department.

The cheapest gas can be found in the Gulf Coast at $3.23 a gallon, while the most expensive gas is still on the West Coast, where a gallon averages $3.87. California’s gas is down about 5 cents compared to a week ago. It’s the only state where drivers are paying more than $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded gas.
