Despite Wilson’s talent, he had trouble holding onto the football. He fumbled the ball twice against the Cowboys, lost both of them, and found his way back to head coach Tom Coughlin’s doghouse.

Wilson finished the game with 19 rushing yards on seven carries, and it is unknown how the team will handle the running back position going forward.

“All we talked about all week long was [how the Cowboys] were coming to strip the ball,” Couglin said. “We can be better. He can be better at that. He can run with two hands on the ball like anybody else. Not going to play unless they can hang onto the ball. It’s demoralizing to the whole team. He is a talented young man. We will get him right even if he has to run around the field with two balls. We need him!”

Da’Rel Scott filled in Wilson and wound up accumulating 74 total yards on offense.
