Goalie Tim Thomas Inks One-Year Deal with Panthers
(SUNRISE, Fla.) -- The Florida Panthers have signed goalie Tim Thomas to a one-year contract, completing his return to the NHL.
The deal is reportedly worth up to $3.75 million if all his bonuses are reached.
The 39-year-old Thomas sat out all of last season before deciding to return to hockey. He had spent his entire playing career with the Boston Bruins before signing with the Panthers during training camp.
Thomas has saved 92 percent of the shots he's faced in his career and has a 2.48 goals-against average. He led the Bruins to the 2011 Stanley Cup and won the Vezina Trophy in 2009 and 2011.
