Manning, who finished the game completing 27-of-42 passes for 462 yards,  becomes the sixth NFL player to throw for seven touchdowns, with the last being Joe Kapp on Sept. 28, 1969.

“I’m a fan of quarterbacks,” Manning said when asked about the record. “And It’s great to — I don’t belong in that category — but to be mentioned along some of the greats, in somewhat of an unique quarterback number, I feel very honored.”

Despite the record breaking night, the Broncos’ offense actually got off to a slow start. Denver’s first three drives all ended with punts. But on the fourth drive, it took Manning only one play to find tight end Julius Thomas for a 24 yard touchdown pass.

The Ravens held strong the rest of the half and actually led at halftime. But the second half was all Denver, as it scored on its first three possessions.

Three Broncos had two touchdown catches including the newly acquired Wes Welker. Welker finished the game with nine catches.

Joe Flacco completed 34-of-62 passes for 362 yards, two interceptions and two touchdowns in the loss.
