Illinois Man Injured During BASE Jump
Published at | Updated at(TWIN FALLS, ID) – An man was critically injured Saturday after his main parachute failed to deploy while BASE jumping off a bridge in Twin Falls Saturday. Forty-five-year-old Timothy Sumpter of Waterloo, Illinois suffered major injuries to his pelvis, back, and shoulder after falling into the Snake River. He was later flown by helicopter to a hospital in Boise. The 486-foot Perrine Bridge is a hot spot for BASE jumpers from around the country, and has been the site of several high-profile jumping accidents through the years, some of which have been fatal.
