(LEXINGTON, Ky.) — Sophomore running back Matt Jones rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries as No. 20 Florida (3-1, 2-0 SEC) took care of Kentucky (1-3, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday night, 24-7. It’s the Gators 27th consecutive victory over the Wildcats.
Jones put Florida on the board first at 7:17 in the opening quarter with a two-yard score. Kentucky would answer late in the first quarter thanks to a fake field goal, which resulted in a 25-yard touchdown run from senior kicker Joe Mansour.
The Gators would go on to score 17 unanswered points, including two touchdowns by junior quarterback Tyler Murphy.
