“Really special. Really special performance by him,” 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said of Kaepernick. “Some laser-like throws down field. Pinpoint accuracy. Managing the chaos of the game. Never blinked. Never flinched at any time. Just kept executing, just consistently really good.”

Kaepernick completed 27-of-39 passes, 13 of them to receiver Anquan Boldin.

Boldin finished the game with 208 yards receiving and a touchdown in his San Francisco debut.

“They kept letting him get open and, I mean, he went out there, he played like a grown man today,” Kaepernick said of Boldin. “He made plays even when he shouldn’t have. If he plays like that, he is going to get the ball even more.”

Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy had 14 rushes for 41 yards, including a touchdown with 8:26 to go in the fourth quarter, putting the Packers ahead 28-24. But 49ers running back Frank Gore scored on a one-yard touchdown run on the next drive to give the Niners the lead for good.

Aaron Rodgers completed 21-of-37 passes for 333 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the loss.
