According to the photographer’s attorney, Gloria Allred, the Los Angeles City Attorney has charged Kanye with one count of battery and one count of attempted grand theft.  He’ll be arraigned October 10 in L.A. County Superior Court.  He’s due to kick off his Yeezus tour on Oct. 19.

Allred also announced that she plans to “vigorously litigate” a civil lawsuit she filed Aug. 21 against Kanye on behalf of her client. In a statement, she said, “We are looking forward to Mr. West having to be accountable in both the criminal and civil justice systems.”

On July 19, the photographer, Daniel Ramos, attempted to speak to Kanye as he left the airport.  Allegedly, the rapper then punched Ramos and wrestled his camera to the ground.

Allred told ABC News Radio that Ramos “held onto his camera and fell down onto his knees onto the paved sidewalk with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, was in great pain, and had to be transported in an ambulance to the emergency room.”

If convicted, the rapper faces a maximum of a year in jail.
