The employees, identified only as Niki, Jess and TJ, left their boss, identified as Jamie, a resignation letter in the form of a poster on the front gates of the Rochester, N.Y., store.

“Since you decided to say ‘cancer’ is not an excuse and think it’s ok to swear at your employees like you do ALL the time, WE QUIT,” reads the sign, a photo of which was posted to Reddit on Saturday.

“Enjoy the fact that you lost a store manager, co-manager and key holder in the middle of back to school,” the three employees wrote.  “Think next time you treat people the way you do.”

“We Aren’t Allowing It ANYMORE,” the sign concludes.

Journeys, a chain carrying men’s, women’s and kids’ clothing, posted a statement on its website stating the company is investigating the situation.

“We take situations like this seriously and are currently investigating this issue. Beyond this, we have no comment,” the statement reads.

An inquiry placed by ABC News to the Reddit user who posted the photo was not returned as of this writing.

An unidentified source told the website Gawker.com that the three employees posted the sign as retaliation for having been “reprimanded for violating company policy.”

Nearly 2,000 people have commented on the resignation letter on Reddit.
