Obama Signs Bill to Pay Military Members During Shutdown

(Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)(WASHINGTON) — Barack Obama signed a bill on Monday night to pay members of the military if the government shutdown comes to fruition at midnight.
The Senate unanimously passed the bill Monday morning, one day after the bill was approved by the House. The “Pay Our Military Act” would also ensure continued pay for civilian employees of the Department of Defense and Pentagon contractors determined by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to be, “providing support to members of the Armed Forces.”
