It was announced Monday that Ben and Kate actress Dakota Johnson and Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam will play college student Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Grey, respectively.  This did not sit well with Fifty Shades of Grey fan Barbra Peace, who’s launched a Change.org petition calling for the actors to be replaced by White Collar’s Matt Bomer and former Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel.

The petition argues, “Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE.”

As of early Wednesday, the petition had more than 17,000 supporters.

Don’t expect Johnson’s mother, actress Melanie Griffith, to add her name to the list.  After the casting announcement was made, Griffith tweeted, “My beautiful child Dakota has been chosen to play Anna Steele in 50 Shades!!! Look out world! Here she comes!!! #proudmama.”

E.L. James’ best-seller, which follows Anastasia’s submissive sexual relationship with Christian, will be brought to the big screen on Aug. 1, 2014.
