Online Revival of “One Life to Live” on Hold Due to Lawsuit

Hemera/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) — One Life to Live isn’t quite on life support, but its immediate future is unclear. The company that holds the rights to the former ABC soap opera, Prospect Park, is holding off on a second season of its revival due to an ongoing lawsuit with ABC, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Prospect Park has claimed in a lawsuit filed in April that the network intentionally killed off One Life to Live characters during crossover appearances on the ABC soap General Hospital in an effort to damage the One Life to Live revival.
The online edition of One Life to Live launched in April. Its first season concluded this week, as did the initial run of another ABC soap that Prospect Park brought back as an Internet program, All My Children. A second season of the latter show is planned.
All My Children ended its ABC run after 41 years in September 2011, and One Life to Live signed off from TV after 43 years on January 2012. Prospect Park announced the re-launch of both shows early this year.
