“(A long-term contract) is going to get done,” George said. “There will be a deal signed and sealed on the talbe before the season. We’re on the same page.”

Paul is set to become a restricted free agent when the 2013-2014 season begins and rumors heated up about who George could sign with.

It seems obvious that both George and the Pacers front office want to get a deal done sooner than later.

“We are working on it now,” Pacers president Larry Bird said. “We’ve got a way to set up where we definitely think we can get something done, but it’s going to have to work for both parties.”

Last season, the Pacers went 49-32 and appear to be one of the biggest threats to the Miami Heat this upcoming season after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals this past year.

George set career highs last season in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
