The Patriots receivers had been receiving some heat lately for their lack of production early in the season, but they silenced critics on Sunday.

Rookie Kenbrell Thompkins caught two touchdown passes, while fellow rookie Aaron Dobson lead the team in receiving as he caught seven passes for 52 yards.

Brady managed to throw for 225 yards with two touchdowns with one interception.

One of the surprise developments on the day was that LeGarrette Blount, not Stevan Ridley, led the team in rushing. Blount had 65 rushing yards on 14 carries.

For the Buccaneers, quarterback Josh Freeman struggled to get anything going. He completed just 19 of 41 passes for 236 yards with an interception.

Running back Doug Martin had 88 rushing yards on 20 carries.

With the loss, Tampa Bay now sits at 0-3 to start the season.
