Paul George Close to Extension with Pacers
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Indiana Pacers and All-Star forward Paul George are close to a new deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.
League sources told Yahoo! Sports that George is close to signing a five-year extension worth more than $90 million.
“There will be a deal signed and sealed on the table before the season,” George told the Indianapolis Star. “We’re on the same page.”
George averaged 19.2 points a game during the 2012-13 postseason before the Pacers fell to the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
“We are working on it now,” Pacers president Larry Bird told the paper earlier this week. “We’ve got a way to set up where we definitely think we can get something done, but it’s going to have to work for both parties.”
