Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice left in the fourth quarter of the team’s 14-6 victory over the Cleveland Browns with a hip flexor strain.

Rice fell to the ground without getting hit and left the game.  He was not scheduled for an MRI.

“He might’ve gone down to protect himself, too,” coach John Harbaugh said. “That’s just something that we’ll have to see. We’re confident and optimistic right now. We’ll have to see tomorrow how he responds to that.”

Before the injury, Rice rushed 13 times for 36 yards, and had a fumble in the third quarter.  He was replaced by Bernard Pierce, who ran 19 times for 57 yards and a touchdown.
