(NEW YORK) — Suspended Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is calling season ticket holders and fans to personally apologize for using PEDs.
Braun was suspended for 65-games after violating the MLB’s Joint Drug Program and will be able to come back in 2014.
“I got a call that said it was Ryan Braun calling,” Brewers fan Wes Aldridge said. “He said it was a mistake that a friend of his dad talked him into and that he was really sorry for his actions.”
Braun is under contract with the team through 2020.
“Even if, you know, the individual person is skeptical or bitter or angry, I think they give him credit for calling,” Brewers’ Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger told WTMJ in Milwaukee.
The Brewers have struggled this season and currently sit in fourth in the NL Central.
