Sale of Malad Trophies Causing Stir
Published at | Updated at(MALAD, ID) – A decision to sell old Malad High School trophies is stirring up quite a controversy. Principal John Cockett says the school has far too many old trophies and not enough space to store them. That’s why he’s asking for alumni and community members connected to the trophies to take them home, provided that they offer a $5 donation. However, some residents claim Cockett is selling the school’s heritage, which should be remembered. The Oneida Pioneer Museum is in talks with the school about taking the trophies to ensure that those remaining don’t go back into storage.
