Schools Keep Lunch Program In Spite of Kids Throwing Food Away

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Around the country, schools are dropping a healthy lunch program spearheaded by First Lady Michelle Obama, amid widespread complaints that the food tastes bad. Rocky Mountain Middle School lunch coordinator Heather Plain says that buying more fruits and vegetables leaves a heavy financial burden on school districts. Administrators say they plan to keep the lunch program for now, though much of the food still ends up in the trash.
