(BOISE, ID) – An Idaho smokejumper was killed in a training accident in southwest Idaho Friday.  Authorities say 40-year-old Mark Urban of Boise was involved in a training exercise with the Bureau of Land Management when his parachute failed to deploy during a jump. The accident happened in an alpine area about 45 miles east of Boise. Urban was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are still working to determine what might have gone wrong. Urban was a ten-year veteran smokejumper and had completed hundreds of jumps in his career.
