Steelers Lose Pouncey and Foote in Loss to Titans
Published at(PITTSBURGH) — Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker Larry Foote both suffered possible season-ending injuries in the team’s loss to the Tennessee Titans Sunday.
Pouncey tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee when teammate David DeCastro fell on his leg during a running play in the first quarter.
“You never like to see a guy get hurt, regardless of who it is,” Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. “(Pouncey) is our captain and our leader, and obviously a very good friend. It’s tough.”
Meanwhile, Foote, who led the team in tackles last season, ruptured a bicep midway through the fourth quarter.
“I hope Larry recovers, that’s a good friend of mine,” Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley said. “But we’ve got to get ready for a game next week, so the guy behind him needs to be ready to step up this week and play.”
