A spokesperson for the Bonneville County Republican party says Watkins has severe damage to his spinal cord. Also injured in the crash were 36-year old Justin Manwaring and 35-year old Bradley Hone. Neither were as seriously hurt as Watkins.
Hone was the pilot of the plane. He is being heralded a hero for safely crash-landing in a field at the 1000 block of 35th West. The plane went down around 4pm Thursday. The plane was returning from a trip to Boise by way of Pocatello. The three men had been attending meetings with the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry.
