“I’m going to come back and be better,” he told the Oklahoman.

Westbrook suffered a torn meniscus in his knee last April during the playoffs. Back on April 27, he had surgery to repair the lateral meniscus in his right knee.

“Every season I try to come back and be a better player,” Westbrook added. “This season should be no different. I should try to come back and be a better player, better teammate and come back and try to win.”

The All-Star guard is a major part of the team’s offense, and his absence throughout the rest of the playoffs was felt.

In five NBA seasons, the 24-year-old has averaged 19.9 points and 6.9 assists per game.
