Train Sparks Fire Near Downey

(DOWNEY, ID) – A freight train caused a small brush fire near Downey Thursday night. Authorities say sparks from the train hit some dry vegetation near Downata Hot Springs next to U.S. Highway 91. Crews from southern Bannock County were on the scene by 7 p.m. Officials declined to offer details about the blaze, though they did not indicate that any structures were threatened as of late Thursday evening.
