US Senate Cancels Vote Following Navy Yard Shootings
Published at(WASHINGTON) — In the wake of the Navy Yard shootings, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid cancelled votes in the Senate.
Aides tell ABC News, the cancellation is not being done for public safety, but rather out of respect for those who were killed in the mass shooting.
“My sympathies go out to the victims of the Navy Yard shooting,” Senator Harry Reid, tweeted. “ We are all thankful for the professionalism of our first responders.”
