(LOS ANGELES) — Lane Kiffin has been fired as head football coach of the University of Southern California.
USC athletic director Pat Haden informed Kiffin of the decision following the team’s charter flight back to Los Angeles early Sunday morning from Arizona. The move follows the Trojans 62-41 loss at Arizona State on Saturday.
USC is 3-2 on the season, but 0-2 in the PAC-12. The Trojans have lost seven of their last 11 games.
Kiffin came to USC following one season at Tennessee, where he led the Volunteers to a 7-6 record. He leaves Southern California with an overall record of 28-15.
