Viral ‘Twerk Fail’ Video Was Really a Jimmy Kimmel Prank

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — The video of an attractive young woman twerking her heart out — and crashing through a glass table and setting herself on fire because of it — has become a viral phenomenon.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! boasted an interview with the ill-fated dancer on Monday night, however, there was good reason for the good “get:” Kimmel revealed on the air that he set the entire stunt up, posted it online two months ago, and just about every media outlet fell for it.
“I didn’t tweet it, we didn’t put it on any website…and we just let the magic happen,” Kimmel boasted.
The dancer, who Kimmel at first called Kaitlin Heller, is actually a stuntwoman named Daphne Avalon.
Thanks to Monday night’s “director’s cut” of the original, Kimmel himself revealed he personally extinguished the flames on her yoga pants after a handstand twerk against an apartment door seemingly went awry.
