(NEW YORK) — The markets saw gains Wednesday in conjunction with strong numbers for auto sales.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 98 points at 14,930.87, marking its biggest gain in two months. The Nasdaq Composite added 36 points at 3,649.04. The S&P added 13, closing at 1,653.08.
Auto sales also saw a boost with increased sales for the Detroit Three. General Motors’ sales rose nearly 15 percent, while Ford and Chrysler saw an improvement of almost 12 percent. Japanese automaker Toyota had the greatest gains at more than 22 percent increase in sales.
Procter & Gamble may release a lower-priced version of detergent called Tide Simple, priced slightly higher than other bargain brands.
Just in time for fall, haunted houses are starting the hiring process with jobs paying up to $15 an hour.
