U.S. Army Sgt. Matthew Krumwiede

(POCATELLO, ID) – A former Pocatello man who lost both legs in Afghanistan last year says he’s looking forward to the future. U.S. Army Sgt. Matthew Krumwiede has been recuperating in a hospital in San Antonio, Texas since he stepped on an improvised explosive device in June of 2012. The 2010 Century High School graduate is now able to walk with the help of prosthetic legs, and is even planning a fly fishing trip in Colorado with other wounded warriors this week. Krumwiede’s parents believe their son was saved by the grace of God, and that he survived for a special purpose.
